THE MANAGEMENT AUCTION
- 13–14 November 2026 · Time to be announced
THE MANAGEMENT AUCTION is a team game about trade-offs: managers rarely get everything they want, so they must know what matters most. Think like a decision-maker, bid like a strategist and defend your choices like a leader.
Round 1, Decision Making (online): an elimination round of situational and aptitude questions modelled on management entrance exams. They test judgement and reasoning under time pressure, not advanced maths.
Round 2, Management Bidding (offline, on campus): each team gets a business problem and a limited budget to bid for resources: men, money, machines, material, technology, time and information. Each resource has a different value, so decide what to fight for and what to let go.
Final evaluation, Build (offline): teams present how their resources solve the problem. The judges score resource allocation, strategic logic, value created and the presentation.
Rules:
- A student can be in only one team, and a team submits one entry per round.
- Each team completes Round 1 on its own, within the time window. Late entries do not count. Malpractice or work with other teams means disqualification.
- Round 2 is in person only. A shortlisted team that cannot attend is removed.
- Budgets, resource values, time limits and auction rules for Round 2 are shared with the shortlisted teams beforehand.
- Bids are final and cannot be withdrawn. Teams may not trade resources unless the organisers allow it.
- Any breach of the rules disqualifies the whole team.
- The format and rules may change before the event. The judges' decision is final, and no appeals are taken after the results.
